Comprehensive Driving Evaluations
Ensure safety and confidence on the road with a comprehensive driving evaluation tailored to your needs by Limitless Driving Solutions. We come to you and complete the needed clinical skills assessment in your home, and a behind-the-wheel evaluation in your home driving environment.

A comprehensive evaluation is recommended if a person has experienced:
-
A change in their health status, such as a stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, neuropathy, or onset of a neurological condition
-
An increase in near-accidents or minor crashes
-
Feedback from family or friends that their driving has deteriorated

To take part in a Comprehensive Driving Evaluation, you will need:

-
Your valid driver’s license
-
A doctor’s referral for “OT Driving Evaluation and Treatment." Fax to 816-300-9681
-
Completed and signed intake forms (online)
-
A family member or friend who can be present during the outcomes discussion.
-
Payment at the time of your visit (insurance does not cover driving evaluations)
1
Background & Goals Review
We start by talking with you and reviewing your doctor’s notes to understand your health, driving history, and your current needs and goals. During this time, we’ll explain the steps and pricing of the evaluation, go over any private-pay costs for training if needed, and provide a Good Faith Estimate—so you’ll know exactly what to expect before your driving evaluation begins.
2
Evaluation
As part of the evaluation, we’ll assess your vision, sensation in your hands and feet, movement, and thinking and concentration skills—all key factors for safe driving. These tests help us determine if you’re ready and able to be behind the wheel.
Following this, we will drive with you in the Limitless Driving Solutions rehabilitation vehicle to conduct a behind-the-wheel evaluation. This gives you the chance to drive through your community and demonstrate your driving skills.
3
OUTCOMES DISCUSSION & Recommendations
After completing both the clinical and on-road parts of your evaluation, we’ll review the results with you. We ask that you have a family member or friend present during the outcomes discussion. We’ll explain how your current skills relate to safe driving and discuss next steps. The results will be shared with your doctor for final review and will indicate one of the following outcomes:
-
Fit to drive
-
Needs additional training or rehabilitation
-
Temporary hold — reassessment recommended after recovery or progress
-
Driving retirement — safety concerns prevent continued driving

You’ll also receive personalized recommendations and resources to support your safety, independence, and confidence on the road—or guidance for transitioning to alternative transportation if driving retirement is the safest option.
4
Driving Rehabilitation (optional)
If your evaluation shows that training or adaptive equipment could improve your driving, we’ll create a personalized plan to help you reach your goals. Our occupational therapy driving specialist focuses on improving driving skills, safety, and confidence. We can recommend and train you to use low-tech adaptive equipment such as steering aids, hand controls, left-foot accelerators, adaptive mirrors, or transfer aids—helping you drive safely and independently again.

When you work with Kristen at Limitless Driving Solutions, you will get recommendations based on objective testing for the peace of mind you need.
