Medicare B Home Safety assessment
Did you know that Medicare Part B will provide a home safety assessment if deemed medically necessary by your physician? We are thrilled to be Kansas City's only OT provider to offer the industry's first data-driven Home for Life Design® Medicare B Home Safety Assessment. A referred assessment can occur upon initial enrollment, following an annual wellness visit, and/or after a loved one's fall or when advancing disease causes new functional cognitive decline.
As a licensed Occupational Therapist, I am uniquely qualified to offer covered caregiver training that emphasizes ease and risk reduction. Additional sessions focusing on strategy implementation and community resources are possible. Medicare B will cover primary caregiver training sessions despite limited patient participation.
*A one-hour OT evaluation will be completed. Additional follow-up visits to meet goals will be scheduled.
Comprehensive Home safety Assessment
We are thrilled to be Kansas City's only OT provider to offer the industry's first data-driven Home for Life Design® Comprehensive Home Safety Assessment. Performed on your entire home, this prevention-focused, client-centered assessment will give you extensive recommendations to ensure safe aging in place. Based on an evidence-based, comprehensive fall prevention training course offered by AgeSafe® America, it includes the exterior of the home, all entry areas, and every room in your home, as well as, lighting assessment, fire safety, electrical safety and anti-fraud strategies. Follow up sessions focusing on fall prevention may be recommended such as medication management or balance training.
This option is also perfect for determining which changes will make your loved one's home ready for their return following a surgery, hospitalization and/or skilled nursing facility stay.
*2-2.5 hour assessment including the entire home.
caregiver training services
Medicare B also covers caregiver training services for caregivers involved in the treatment of Medicare patients if the training focuses on the patient meeting their healthcare goals and the patient needs a caregiver’s help for their treatment to succeed.
The caregiver can get individualized training sessions from the provider even without the patient present.
